integrity of the heart and skillful hands

Psalms 78:72

“So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

David shepherded God's people according to the integrity of his heart aiming and intending at nothing else but the glory of God, and the good of the people committed to his charge. The principles of faith were the guidelines of his government, which he administered, not with fleshly motive but with godly sincerity by the grace of God. But David was not only an upright and faithful king, but also a "skillful" or careful one.

This is a challenge for us here in the south or in any where we might be, God has entrusted people to our care and remember they are God’s people not ours, we are just care takers. Leading our people with integrity is challenging because it calls for total completeness not half- heartedly, fullness of dedication to God without counting the convenience. As leaders, we need to be people of wholeness - without cracks or inconsistencies between what we say and who we are; we need to walk in pursuit of healing and wholeness so that what flows out goes to them without guile or pretense.

But not just integrity but also skills, the pursuit to leading them in an increasing manner - hindi pwede ang puwede na – we have to keep on growing so that we can give more - improving our skills and understanding of the ways of the Lord, and in the ways of excellence in everything we do. God is worthy of our very best -- and the people we are set in place to lead need us to be filled with great skill.

Keep on Growing
