Faith and Works

Philippians 1:27
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel”

Is Your Faith worth an Action. The first item in II Corinthians 8:7 is excellence in faith, and that is a good place to start. The old spiritual says, "Everybody talking about heaven ain't going there." And not everybody talking about faith necessarily excels in faith. In today’s culture, many people have the opinion that we should live by our own standards, unmindful to the Word of God. Some want the blessings of the promises of God, without subjecting themselves to obedience to God.

However, to be truly happy and fulfilled, we must examine ourselves in the light of God’s Word and live by it. The Bible says, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105).  The stress and tensions of life become more unbearable when we live in selfish disobedience to the Word of God. Yet simple submission and obedience to God’s Word relieve the stress that disobedience and today’s culture imposes.

The Bible said that “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” Doubt is crippling, but faith is empowering; so act on it, faith in action brings victory! God has made it possible for you to know Him and experience an amazing change in your own life. Read His word, hear the word, and rejoice with His word, put it action so that you can see and experience it worth. “But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do” (Psalms 1:2).
